Graeagle Meadows

Monday Madness

The Monday Madness event format was what is called “In the Box.” In the box is usually used for a two-person team and means one net score on the par fours, two net scores on the par threes, and an assigned member’s net score counts for the team score on the par fives.

The format used in the Monday Madness four-person team was a variation of the usual “In the Box.” In this format, the assigned member’s net score on each hole is added to the best net score of the other three members on hole one through 16. On hole 17 and 18, the two best net scores are used to determine the team’s score.

There was a tie for first place between the teams of Karen Fraser, George Fraser, Bob McIlroy and Tom Fregulia and the team of Loraine Cornish, Jack Cornish, Jack Heskett and Jim Oster with scores of 120.

Whitehawk Ranch Ladies Golf Club

Oct. 1, 2013

This week offered two days of ladies’ golf. On Tuesday, a small field of faithful golfers competed in a game called Three Blind Mice. Each lady played her own ball and, at the end, three holes were thrown out by the pro shop. Our winner was Barbara Competello who shot an 80. Diane Romig was second with 94. Good going ladies!

The other ladies’ golf day was Wednesday, which was our annual outing to Martis Camp in Truckee. Such a treat to spend the day there enjoying the beautiful course, the amazing clubhouse, and relaxed golf, all in crisp clear fall weather . And who couldn’t get used to having one caddy per foursome! They enhanced the experience! Our three foursomes had a great golf day and then lunch with our pro Tad.
