updates on almanor fitness

Some exciting things are happening at the Lake Almanor Fitness Center in Chester. Recently promoted co-manager Soozie Yearwood has earned her certification from the American Fitness Association as a group exercise instructor and is now also a certified Zumba instructor. She and Shannon Story conduct Zumba classes Monday and Wednesday evenings and on Tuesday mornings.

Wendy Cheli has joined the LAFC team as a shift manager. She is also trained using state-of-the-art computerized equipment to do body composition analysis.

The facility has also upgraded its cardio exercise equipment with the addition of some Precor ellipticals, Duo-Tech weight equipment and a Nautilus tread climber.

acroyoga workshops offered

The Quincy Yoga and Wellness Center hosts an AcroYoga workshop Friday and Saturday, March 29 and 30. Guest instructor Amy Impellizzeri starts the event with an Elemental Core Asana practice Friday evening, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. It continues Saturday with AcroYoga FUNdamental Playshop, 9 a.m. – noon, and Flight School: Therapeutic and Acrobatic Flights, 2 – 5 p.m. All levels are invited and no partner or experience is needed. County Cleaners in Susanville has found a new drop-off location in Chester for its Plumas County customers.Owner Penny Artz said they now work with JS Bookkeeping at 181 Main St., Suite 3, right by the Fly Shop. Dry cleaning and laundry is regularly shuttled to their Main Street Susanville location where it is cleaned onsite.

store owner scores big in seattle

Holly Patton, manager at The Finishing Touch in Quincy, just returned from Seattle, Wash., where she attended a trade show and exhibition at the Pacific Market Center. Holly said she found a great new line of jewelry and personal accessories, purses, some very decorative table linens and an array of garden accessories. “I have some fun new funky items that will be arriving on a regular basis so make sure to stop by often so you don’t miss out,” she said.

Dr. Bruce H. Lee has been practicing dentistry for 37 years, opening his Portola practice in 1976. He attended the University of Southern California and transferred after three years to UC San Francisco, from which he graduated in 1975 with a doctorate in dental surgery.
