The results are in! The Plumas-Sierra County Fair board chose a winner in the 2013 Fair Theme Contest.
Quincy resident Marilyn Hoffman’s theme, “Plumas Sierra County Fair — Fun, Family, Friends,” aptly describes the annual event, to be held Aug. 14 – 18.
Hoffman’s prize includes a T-shirt that proclaims “I Came Up With This Year’s Fair Theme” and a week–long family pass with one unlimited carnival ride bracelet.
“Many fairs have abandoned this method of picking a theme,” said Fair Manager John Steffanic. “They just don’t get the level of participation that makes it worth it. The fair board was pleased at the number of entries they received and will probably do it again next year.”
