A 63-year-old man died after he was removed from a Monday, Jan. 21 structure fire in Clear Creek.

The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) identified the man as Bradley Streich, 63, of Westwood.

According to a press release from the LCSO, deputies responded to a reported structure fire at 5:15 p.m. Multiple fire agencies including Calfire and the Westwood and Peninsula fire departments responded as well.

As personnel arrived on scene of the active structure fire, it was reported a person was inside the residence. Calfire entered the home and carried out an unconscious Streich. The LCSO said life-saving measures began immediately by fire and medical staff at the scene.

The press release said, “Unfortunately life saving measures were unsuccessful and (Streich) was pronounced deceased at the scene."

The cause of the fire and the death are under investigation. Calfire law enforcement was called to the scene to investigate the cause and origin of the fire.
