The USDA Forest Service Plumas National Forest, Beckwourth Ranger District is beginning the scoping process for the Crocker Guard Station Public Toilet Project.  A detailed description of the purpose and need and proposed action is available online on the Plumas National Forest webpage under Land and Resources Management.  If you would like a hardcopy of the document please contact Mary Kliejunas, project leader, via one of the methods listed below, under comment procedures.
The Crocker Guard Station is located in T24N, R14E, Section 33 on the Beckwourth Ranger District, Plumas National Forest, Plumas County, California.
The purpose of this proposed action is to construct a vault toilet facility at Crocker Guard Station.  The Forest is preparing to make this historic guard station a recreation rental and currently there is no toilet facility.  Resource Advisory Committee (RAC) cycle 12 funding was secured for a portion of the NEPA analysis, installation of the vault and construction of the toilet building.  The vault toilet will provide a sanitary toilet facility to public visitors as well as Forest Service employees.

The Forest Service, Plumas National Forest, Beckwourth Ranger District, is preparing a Decision Memo for approving a Plan of Operations for the Discovery mining claim. The Plan of Operations would allow claimant, Rafal Wolny, to conduct exploratory placer mining activities on National Forest System lands. The claimant's proposal involves excavation of up to 20 test pits with a backhoe to evaluate placer deposits for mineral content. Material would be processed through a trommel.  The location of the proposed exploration is north of Johnsville, off of National Forest System Road 23N37; T22N, R11E, NE 1/4 of Section 1, MDBM.  The proposed action description and other information are available for review at the Mt.
