There are reports (not yet confirmed  by PG&E) of power lines down at Stamphli Lane in Indian Valley and on Bucks Lake Road in Meadow Valley.

CHP radio traffic earlier today suggest that the Feather River has flooded Highway 70 in the vicinity of Rock Creek Reservoir.  They also mentioned rocks in the road and the possibility that it could take a couple days to re-open the highway.  This has been confirmed by Cal Trans.

The heavy rain and winds are now moving out of Plumas County.

Flood and high wind warnings have been issued by the National  Weather Service.

Highway 70 is closed from 8 miles west of Pulga (Butte County) to the junction of St Route 89 (Greenville Wye in Plumas County) due to flooding.  Chains aor snow tires are required on Highway 36 over Fredonyer Summit.  All other major highways are open.   Power outages are reported in Twain, Canyon Dam, and the Lake Almanor Peninsula.

Still not anywhere NEAR as bad as the New Years Eve flood of 1996 when we moved up to Oregon and our moving van guy almost didn't make it with our furniture because he wouldn't believe Dad about the upcoming storms.

Highway 70 was closed for a month afterwards (which Dad called our old realtor due to still paying off our old house) and the realtor said we got out just in time because food was being airlifted to the grocery stores.

The moving guy made it within a half hour of 70 collapsing because he choose to dilly dally which Dad left the evening before on his long drive up to Oregon and Dad saw the sun set under cleara skies in Chico.

Dad didn't hit solid rain until just past Mt Shasta.

Highway 70 just before the 96 floods already had water lapping the road in many places and he heard a forecast of 10 inches of rain coming to the mountains.

Dad and I plan to get the flood video that's on here as soon as we can so we can see what we missed and this forum needs more space.
