           Special tax hearing
PUBLIC HEARING ON SPECIAL TAX TO
BE PROPOSED TO THE VOTERS OF THE
QUINCY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT

Notice is hereby given that on November 8,
2012, at 8 a.m., at Plumas Bank Administrative Building Conference Room, 32 Central Ave., Quincy, the Board of Directors of the Quincy Fire Protection District will hold a public hearing regarding a
special tax measure proposed for an all-mail
ballot election to occur on June 4, 2013. The tax proceeds would be used solely for the purpose of supplementing the funding of services for fire protection and prevention, emergency medical response and hazardous materials emergency response. The special tax will only take effect if approved by two-thirds of the voters voting in the June 4, 2013 election.
The tax would be $96.00 per parcel per fiscal year, with an additional $2.50 administrative charge by the county for collection, for a total of $98.50 excluding those parcels exempt from county property tax, and be effective for five (5) fiscal years, commencing 2013-14 and ending June 30, 2018. The tax would be collected with  county property taxes and then apportioned to the Quincy Fire Protection District.
The public hearing will allow the Board of Directors of the Quincy Fire Protection District to take questions and comments from the public prior to the Board's submitting the special tax measure to a vote.
