Plumas District Hospital will hold the annual Fall Health Screening during the second week of October. The low-cost health screening will take place from 6:30 am – 8:30 am beginning Monday, October 8 and running through Thursday, October 11, 2012 in the North Fork Family Medicine Building on Valley View Road behind the hospital.
No appointments are necessary; however, participants are encouraged to come on the day assigned to the first letter of their last name. A through F on Monday, October 8; G through M on Tuesday, October 9; N through S on Wednesday, October 10 and T through Z on Thursday, October 11. Participants must not eat for 12 hours prior to the blood draw and must be 18 years or older. Continue normal intake of water and any medication as usual.
Testing includes: Comprehensive metabolic panel, thyroid screening, complete blood count (CBC), cholesterol,triglycerides, HDL, and direct LDL and ratio. Cost is $50, payable by cash or check.
For an additional charge, bone density and prostate cancer screenings will be available. Bone density screening appointments may be scheduled at the time of the screening.
