At approximately 9:30 a.m. today, units responded from the Chester Fire Protection District to a fifth-wheel trailer fire at 286 Main St. in Chester. While the vehicle appeared to be somewhat in the open, there was a small travel trailer parked in the space immediately to the left of the fifth-wheel. Both vehicles are located within 30 feet of Main Street traffic. It is unknown if the smaller vehicle suffered heat damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The California Highway Patrol and a fire crew from the Almanor Ranger District also responded. Photos by M. Kate West
