Feather River College declares fiscal crisis
Anticipating Gov. Jerry Brown’s May budget revision, expected to be announced May 13, Dr. Ron Taylor, president of Feather River College, presented a declaration of fiscal crisis for the district board of trustees’ approval at its regular meeting Thursday, April 21.

State game refuge status still on the table

Whether or not to eliminate the protected status of California game refuges is still on the table.
California Department of Fish and Game (DFG) officials were asked to conduct public outreach and then submit a report to the Legislature by Jan. 1.

Sheriff Hagwood to talk Forest Service Travel Plan at May 4 meeting

Plumas County Sheriff Greg Hagwood will be the featured speaker during the May 4 Almanor Tea Party (ATP) meeting in Chester.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in the Chester Memorial Hall.

Tuesday meeting to discuss courthouse locations
The Administrative Office of the Courts is considering two parcels for a new courthouse in Quincy. One, a horse pasture at 199 Crescent St. (Highway 70), is not just zoned as a floodplain, it is currently flooded.

Single vehicle accident sends Taylorsville family to the hospital
Two people are hospitalized with critical injuries and four others suffered minor injuries after a single-vehicle accident involving six family members from Taylorsville Sunday evening, April 24.
Sesha Putnam, 30, and Mia Harris, 10, were life-flighted to Renown hospital in Reno. Their official condition is unknown.
