Separation agreement finalized; Harris to get year’s severance pay

The Plumas Unified School District board has reached a separation agreement with Superintendent Glenn Harris that will pay him $10,775 a month for 12 months. He will also receive $950 a month for health care.

The agreement became final at midnight Thursday night, April 26, following elapse of a seven-day grace period. The board released the agreement Friday morning, April 27.

Self resigns as Seneca District Hospital CEO

Doug Self, chief executive officer for Seneca Healthcare District (SHD), submitted his resignation to the board of directors Friday, April 20.

He has accepted the position of chief operating officer for the Carson-Tahoe Health System (CTHS), which is based in Carson City.

District cabinet to take over school operations

After more than three hours in closed session Wednesday night, April 25, chairman Chris Russell reported that the school board had voted unanimously to delegate day-to-day school district operations to the administrative cabinet once a separation agreement with Superintendent Glenn Harris is finalized and until the position is filled.

Asked if that meant the separation agreement with Harris was not a done deal, Russell said the agreement had not been finalized. The cabinet will report directly to Russell.

Harris to leave school district - Attorneys hashing out agreement

The Plumas Unified School District superintendent and school board members were available to talk the morning after they agreed to part ways, but they weren’t saying much.

“We have a duty to confidentiality that we take very seriously,” said school board trustee Bret Cook, adding that he and the other board members would be able to share more after the “agreement becomes public.”
