Quincy Community Service District weighs system repairs

The Quincy Community Service District board took the first major step in a process to possibly repair the district’s sewer system at the Tuesday, June 10, board meeting.

The board has been discussing issues with the system for years.

 

County proposes taking over tourism functions

    The county’s proposed 2010-11 budget calls for the county-funded tourism and economic development functions at Plumas Corporation to be brought under the county’s direct supervision, with $25,000 in anticipated transition costs.
    The working plan would involve taking $75,000 from the $230,000 usually allocated to Plumas Corporation and creating a request-based system where groups could make proposals for events or other efforts that might stimulate the economy.

 

Plumas County declares need for homeless services

Dennis Thibeault, executive director of the Plumas Crisis Intervention and Resource Center, told the Plumas County Community Development Commission at a mid-May meeting that when it came to the number of homeless people in Plumas County, "The numbers that we are talking about are literally in the hundreds."

 

Museum plans guided Sierra Valley tour

The Plumas County Museum will offer a guided bus tour Friday, June 25, of historical Sierra Valley and its ranches, towns, cemeteries, schools and more.
