The days of the Plumas County Visitors Bureau appear to be numbered.
That was the general impression during a lively discussion by the Board of Supervisors at its meeting Tuesday, Dec. 13.

The fire, which originated in the garage of the 259 First Ave. residence of Richard Lebert at approximately 1:28 a.m., spread very quickly to the 265 First Ave. residence of Nick Bagby. The fire consumed most of the two structures and all personal property belonging to the adults and their children.
The stagnant housing economy, which has resulted in reassessed home values throughout Plumas County and lower property tax revenue, is financially distressing at the very least to struggling district hospitals.
Compounded with the proposed reduction in MediCal reimbursements for patient care, specifically those in distinct part skilled nursing facilities, this could be construed as a formula for failure.
